CBD Oil UK: The 10 Best CBD Oils In The UK (2022)

CBD oil has become incredibly popular over the last few years, so you’ve probably heard how it’s one of the most potent anti-inflammatories around, how it can reliably reduce anxiety, and even how it can relieve pain.

But not all CBD oils are equal. Some seem to be more effective than others. This could be for many reasons but the main ones are probably a lack of care and attention in the manufacturing process and companies attempting to cut corners in order to cash in on a lucrative market.

That’s why we have vetted the best CBD oils in the UK to help you pick the one that is right for you. All the brands featured take the utmost pride in their products and have crafted them with the aim of helping customers in mind.

The following products are of the highest quality, they have been expertly formulated, and have undergone rigorous testing by third-party laboratories. We’ve also included the best value CBD oils in the UK, as well as some unique products from trusted brands.

But first, let’s take a look at CBD – how to take it, how it works, and its legal status in the UK.

What is CBD oil?

So CBD is short for cannabidiol – a compound found in the flowers (buds) of cannabis plants. It is one of many cannabis-derived compounds known as cannabinoids.  Others include THC (which gets you high), CBDa (the precursor to CBD) and CBG.

CBD oil is a preparation that contains cannabidiol (CBD) suspended in a carrier oil. Common carrier oils include coconut oil, hemp seed oil and olive oil.

How do you take CBD oil?

The most common method to consume CBD oil is sublingual, which means ‘under the tongue’. Simply squeeze a drop or two (or however much you need) under your tongue and hold it there for about 90 seconds.

This part of your mouth is very absorbent and will quickly allow the CBD oil to pass into your bloodstream.

IS CBD oil legal in the UK?

Yes, CBD oil is completely legal in the UK. While restrictions were brought in by the MHRA in 2016, these only prevented companies from selling CBD as a medicine.

Therefore, you will see that all trustworthy brands clearly state that their products are not for medicinal use and do not make any health claims.

What to look for when buying CBD oil in the UK

There are a few things to keep in mind when buying CBD oil in the UK, whether online or in a shop.

  • Stick to trusted brands with reviews

Lots of 5-star reviews on the brand’s website or something like Trust Pilot is one of the surest signs that you are ordering a high-quality product.

  • Be suspicious of very low prices

If it sounds too good to be true, it might be.

  • Know what you want

Depending on how much processing it’s been through, CBD oil can be dark, thick and bitter or it can be golden, tasteless or even quite sweet. Therefore, it’s best to have an idea about what you want in an oil before you make a purchase.

  • Ask questions

And don’t be afraid to ask companies questions if you’re confused about anything. They’re happy to help. And feel free to ask us anything, also.

1. High Strength CBD Oil From NuHemp  – (10ml – 1,500mg CBD – £52.99)

This a company that prides itself on delivering the highest-quality products combined with attentive customer service. Oh, and their prices are phenomenal considering how good their products are. We haven’t found a better deal yet.

NuHemp’s CBD oil is from high-CBD cannabis plants grown lovingly and without the use of pesticides. I like that their oils are full-spectrum, meaning you get the full benefits of the entourage effect.

2. 3.3% CBD from FourFiveCBD – (30ml – 1,000mg CBD £59.99)

From the hearts and minds of two professional rugby players, George Kruis and Dominic Day, FourFiveCBD is a CBD brand created especially for athletes and those of us who like to keep active.

Available in natural or orange flavour, FourFiveCBD’s full-spectrum 1,000mg CBD oil is one of the most rigorously tested oils around. Therefore, you can be sure of its purity and potency. A broad-spectrum THC-free version is also available, removing any worries of breaking the rules and regulations of athletic competition.

3. EQL Water Soluble CBD Oil With Curcumin,  Black Pepper, Lemon and Ginger – (30ml – 500mg CBD – £45)

EQL is a reasonably new CBD brand with a focus on wellness. And that focus on wellness is why they have combined super-efficient water-soluble CBD with curcumin and black – which work together to provide a powerful anti-inflammatory effect. Meanwhile, the lemon and ginger make it taste great.

Water-soluble CBD is absorbed mush easier and quicker by the body, meaning you need less than a typical oil. Therefore, this 30ml bottle with 500mg  is going to be much more powerful than an oil-based CBD product with an equivalent concentration.

4. Brown’s 20% CBD oil (2,000mg – 10ml – £69.99)

This full-spectrum CBD hemp oil contains 2000mg of CBD carried in organic cold-pressed hemp seed oil.

It is a golden colour and has been gently heated in so that the CBD is decarboxylated, which basically means it has been activated from CBDa to CBD. It also contains trace amounts of other cannabinoids such as CBDA, CBDV, CBC, CBN, CBG & THC.

Use code ‘HP10‘ for a 10% discount.

5. CBD Armour Silver (10ml -1,000mg CBD – £30)

CBD Armour’s Silver Full Spectrum CBD Oil is one of the best value CBD oils in the UK. Each 10ml bottle contains 1,000mg of CBD and costs just £30.

We also like CBD Armour Silver for its simplicity – it has just two ingredients, both derived from the cannabis plant: full spectrum hemp extract and organic hemp seed oil. It contains no other chemicals, flavours or preservatives. We appreciate this. Although the taste is not the best.

6. 20% Raw CBD Oil from Aura – (10ml – 2,000 mg CBDa – £59.99)

This CBD oil is unique in that it contains CBDa, the acidic precursor to CBD that science is showing to be more effective than CBD itself! Part of the reason for this is because CBDa has greater bioavailability, so the body can metabolise the compound more efficiently.

Suspended in hemp seed oil, this full-spectrum 20% oil also contains a strong terpene profile, fatty acids and antioxidants.

7. Raised Spirit 10% CBD Oil (10ml – 1,000mg CBD – £64.99)

Founded by professional MMA fighter Nick Osipczak, Raised Spirit is made with athletes and active people in mind. Nick is passionate about the potential of hemp, especially since CBD was approved by the World Anti-Doping Agency, better known as the WADA.

Made with nothing but full spectrum hemp extract and hemp seed oil, this 10ml bottle contains 1,000 mg of CBD. And you can rest assure that each batch is accurately lab tested to ensure its suitability for athletes in all sports.

8. Broad Spectrum CBD Spray From Cannbidolpharm – (10ml – 1,000mg)

If using a small dropper is awkward or inconvenient for you, Cannabidolpharm, has created a handy CBD oil spray. Instead of squeezing drops under your tongue, you simply spray a few times under your tongue.

Designed for new and experienced users alike, the spray contains organic broad-spectrum hemp extract (including CBD, CBDA, CBG and CBC) suspended in organic virgin hemp seed oil. You can read our in-depth review of Cannabidolpharm’s 500mg spray here.

It costs £48.00

9. Blue Edition CBD Oil from CBD Brothers (10ml – 500mg CBD – £17.95)

One of the leaders of the UK CBD industry, CBD brothers are a good-willed and honest company who offer a superb range of CBD products at affordable prices. Their Blue Edition CBD Oil is made with a 25% CBD hemp extract from outdoor-grown, organic hemp plants, along with cold-pressed hemp seed oil.

It’s one of their most popular products and has exceptional reviews. All their products are made at their own specifically built laboratory located in Suffolk.

10. Pharmahemp 5% CBD Oil with Curcumin & Black Pepper  (10ml – 500mg CBD – £34.99)

This is a unique product in that it combines three other powerful ingredients to act alongside a hemp extract that features a full range of cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and nutrients.

Its ingredients are organic hemp extract, curcumin from turmeric, black pepper (which is known to work synergistically with curcumin), and an olive oil base. For someone who wants the added effect of other therapeutic plants alongside a CBD-rich extract, there’s nothing comparable to this on the UK CBD market.

  2. Hi,
I’ve tried a CBD oil (10ml ,500mg) which I’ve used for chronic back pain. However I’d like a more precise way of taking a dose and believe capsules may be an alternative. What would you recommend?

    1. Hey Tony,
Have you looked into THC oil instead of CBD?
for pain relief I have found it a lot more effective to be honest. 🙂

  3. I’m looking for a CBD oil which might help with lower body parkinsonism in an elderly male who has never used any cannabis products. Could you recommend one?

    1. Hi Tim, thanks for reaching out. While we are in no position to offer any medical advice, the top oil mentioned in this article is a good place to start for many people. 10% is a moderate strength so start with just a drop or two once or twice a day. If you feel it’s needed, slowly increase your dose. Best of luck.

  4. I smoke weed to flesh out reality, not to make a break. I don’t use cannabis because I hate my job or my life. I don’t smoke weed because I can’t pay my bills. I definitely don’t smoke weed to avoid working on my relationship. As a matter of fact, cannabis has done a lot to help my relationship. I am depressed about the state of the world and Donald Trump being the president, but smoking weed doesn’t help me escape those facts. It does make those things easier to process, but I don’t forget them. I smoke weed because I’m bipolar and I have a social anxiety disorder, and it helps me deal with it without taking pills. I smoke weed because it helps make me a better person.

  5. Hey check out this site budsrus I recently purchased a bottle of there oil and it’s the best I’ve tryed yet they have total spectrum! With a minimum of 50 cannabinoids unlike full spectrum which only contains 5-8

  6. I use CBD oil here in the states. I heard that TSA does not allow it to be packed in carryon and checked luggage. I am traveling in August and am wondering where I can buy oil in London once I get there.

    Cheers Jack ?

  9. Hi, I need advice please! I have had diabetes for 43 years and in the last 3 years have developed a condition called gastroparisis which is a stomach condition that makes me feel very nauseous all the time. My dr has advised me to try CBD oil but I don’t know which one can help with this condition and wonder if you could advise what type I need to try
    Thanks

    1. All on this list are high-quality products from reputable brands. A 10% oil is a good place to start. And the only way to know if it will work for you is to give it a try. Take a drop or two and wait. If you notice nothing after a couple of hours, increase the dose. Best of luck Stephen. Please reach out if you have any more questions.

  10. Someone said recently in Preston that he was convicted for selling CBD flower do you know if this is true?

  11. Hey Jack, I thought I’d add Bud & Tender’s oil to your list. I’ve been using CBD oil over the last year or so, and have tried quite a few different ones. Their CBD oil is by far the best I’ve ever tried – here’s a link to a page I wrote describing their oil, and there’s a 10% discount code available on there .I highly recommend it 😉

cheers, and your site is great!

    Ramsay

    1. Hi Ramsay! Thanks for the comment. Yes, B&T oil is great. Really high-quality product from an outstanding company. They should be on this list. I am in the process of launching a Youtube channel and that will be one of the first reviews I’ll be doing.

And your site is very interesting too!

      Cheers, Jack

  12. To the sellers of these products, sort out your Paypal. I don’t want to setup an account with loads of companies just to try your products. I want to click a few buttons to buy, just like on Ebay.

  13. I agree with Ed. Even though the checkout process has been quick with the dozen or so companies I ordered from, it is still not painless to set up or track each time you want to reorder.

  14. Great article guys! It is definitely important to do your research when buying CBD oil products. All our CBD oils are Safe, clean, lab tested and organic. And we don’t believe in ripping people off! Stay safe everyone!

  15. Hey Lovely People,
We switched from using CBD to THC oil and we noticed the difference immediately and the difference was incredible. To be honest me and my Hubby never really felt anything when we used CBD (we tried various different brands) and we paid a fair bit trying. It was quite funny as initially, we would take the oil and sit there asking each other “can you feel anything yet?” 🙂 Anyway, we switched to RSO last week and OMG! LOL the first night we took (as instructed) 1/2 a grain of rice worth each in a cup of tea and within 20 minutes both of us were feeling the effects and it was great.
Quick back story, both me and him indoors have had issues with our joints which get worse in the evenings (and I’ve had issues with tension in my neck for 15 years that the dr’s could never really diagnose). Both have us have not felt any pain in our joints and the tension in my neck went the first night we tried the RSO.We are converted lol. We are up to a grain of rice worth now as we are following ther reco’d dosage guidelines and genuinely we are feeling great and I dont think its placebo lol.good luck to all!!

  16. My wife suffers from MS and has previously tried and oil for pain relief. We saw no overall benefit, given the cost. I then cooked cannabis for thc and this does give some pain relief , allowing her to stop opioids, but more important helps her sleep!
She now wants to come off gabapentin and try a combination of thc THC and cbd. Has anybody tried both, particularly for MS?
    Thank you
    Steve and Nancy
